One of 'Greta's' most popular trips is to visit the old WWII Forts that can be seen from the shoreline all the way along the North Kent coast.

Leave Whitstable Harbour to sail out to the Sea Forts. Designed by Guy Maunsell these impressive feats of engineering are amazing. Soak up the atmosphere that surrounds them. We sail so close you can almost touch them! Built in 1941 as part of the East Coast defences these huge eerie structures rise out of the sea like creatures from the war of the worlds, indeed they've been used a number of times as TV & Film sets.

The Buoys either side of the Forts, sway gently in the current, pales constantly as if to remind us of the cost of War & gives the area a special sacred feel.
